I felt absolutely compelled to write this letter of gratitude to thank you for the unbelievable results you produced for me dealing with my mother's estate. When we first met and you made your suggestions, I must admit I was somewhat skeptical of the idea of having an auction to determine the value of the hundreds of items that were placed for sale in the open bidding forum. You produced results three times what I would have been willing to settle for relative to the personal property aspect of the auction. Even more spectacular was the result you obtained relative to the real estate aspect of my mother's estate. I had just completed an independent appraisal of the property the month before we had the auction. I had my doubts as to whether this was a good idea, but with the ability to set my own reserve figure without obligation I felt comfortable to proceed with the auction and not be forced to sell to the highest bidder should that bid be below my reserve selling price and the appraisal number. You obviously did your job getting the word out through your advertising techniques as the number of persons in attendance and bidding was incredible. Best of all, this method of marketing real estate brought to my attention an issue which needs exploring in much greater detail. My wife is a real estate broker in Illinois and she also took notice of what happened. It would seem real estate brokers should be partnering more with auctioneers to sell real estate as this is a very efficient means of bringing many prospective buyers to the table all at once. The thought of selling real estate the old fashioned way, " by appointnnent only" seems such a waste of time as many are really "Just curiously looking" and wasting the real estate broker or sales persons time. The auction forum, although it also may bring curiosity seekers, will also bring serious potential buyers, who as in the case of this estate auction drove the final purchase figure to almost twice the appraisal figure I had obtained. This seems to be a very natural and efficient means by which to obtain a quick sale the best price for the seller. The old fashioned way of one potential buyer at a time can be so time consuming and counter productive for both the real estate agent and the seller. Making your acquaintance has truly been a pleasure and a great benefit for my mother's estate. You and your wife were wonderful to deal with. I want to sincerely express my appreciation for your efforts and the professionalism by which you handled my affairs. Best wishes for your future successes in the auctioneering profession. You are the best. Thank you again for a job well done and very much appreciated. Sincerely, Gary S. Kimmel, D.D.S.
